E1Q11: "Engendering Reproductive Health Within Oncologic Survivorship (EROS) Trials has GA roots!

The trial E1Q11 is designed to examine an intervention of a reproductive health assessment and algorithm to improve the adoption of appropriate reproductive health management and is available through the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group and the American College of Radiology Imaging Network (ECOG-ACRIN).

It is co-Chaired by Georgia CORE Board Member Howard Zaren, MD, FACS.  Currently, 21 sites have been approved for site registration. Georgia Regents University Medical Center in Augusta is one of these participating sites.  Another of our Board Members, Sharad Ghamande, MD, is acting as the Principal Investigator for Augusta.  

The primary objective is to evaluate the success of the implementation of reproductive health programming (Didactics, EROS Reproductive Health Assessment and EROS Trial Algorithm) among reproductiveaged women (18-55 y) with cancer.  Secondary objectives include assessing the degree of discrepancy between patients and clinicians in their estimates of significance of the reproductive health goals for the patient , evaluating baseline and follow-up reproductive health assessments for trends in reproductive health choices relating to oncofertility, oncocontraception, and pregnancy over the 5-year study period, and identifying clinical and demographic factors that predict the adequacy of reproductive health care management.
