Pilot Trial Underway to Assess the Effect of Web-Based Continuing Education on Integrative Medicine Approaches to Prostate Cancer

The University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine is offering a Web-Based Training with 7 hours of free CE Credit to Georgia Oncologists, Urologists, Primary Care Physicians and Nurse Navigators, as part of a pilot trial to assess the effect of web-based continuing education on integrative approaches to prostate cancer. Participants will take the 7 hour program in convenient segments over an 8 week period via the web and participate in pre and post assessments to determine changes in knowledge, beliefs and clinical practice. Matthew P. Mumber, MD (Harbin Clinic, Rome) and Omer Kucuk, MD (Winship Cancer Institute, Atlanta) are Co-Principal Investigators of the study made possible through a collaboration with the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine, Georgia CORE, GASCO, the Council of Regional Cancer Coalitions of Georgia and the Georgia Cancer Coalition. The study is approved by the University of Arizona’s IRB. This is a great opportunity to earn continuing education credits before the end of the year and learn more about evidence-based integrative medicine approaches for prostate cancer prevention, treatment and survivorship.
