Breast Cancer Working Group Develop New Concepts and Prioritize Research

A Breast Cancer Working Group Meeting, sponsored by Monogram Biosciences, was held a meeting on April 15, 2009 to discuss breast cancer clinical research priorities, protocol concepts and case studies. Over 25 participants engaged in discussion regarding strategic methods to expand breast cancer clinical trials across Georgia. The Breast Cancer Working Group consists of a multidisciplinary group, including academia and community practices, surgeons, radiation oncologists and medical oncologists. The meeting consisted of presentations from Ruth O’Regan, MD (Convener), Frederick Schnell, MD, FACP, Smitha Sivaraman, PhD, Colleen Austin, MD, Hilary Hahm, MD, Jayanthi Srinivasiah, MD, and Nancy M. Paris, MS, FACHE. Meeting discussions included the following:
  • E5103 (High Priority)- Avastin and Chemotherapy in the High Risk Adjuvant Setting
  • Her2 Positive Cancer
  • Measuring the Target – A Functional Proteomic Approach to Personalized Medicine
  • Her2 Testing and Management of Small Her2+ Cancers
  • Breast Cancer Trials in Georgia.
